Growing up as part of a large farming family in northern NSW it was the normal to come in to my Nan’s kitchen to the smell of freshly baked goods, REAL baked goods not the kind that came out of a cardboard box, but the kind that used wholesome ingredients and were made with love.

This is where my love and passion for baking evolved with some of my Nan’s original recipes featuring in some of my most sought after goods.
As a young child my family knew then that baking and decorating was my true calling with you often being able to find me in the kitchen baking and decorating a classic chocolate cake that I’m sure my family got sick of eating day after day.

“Baked By Danelle” started from baking my families Birthday cakes which generated interest in my creations. Before I knew it I was fully registered and operating as a decorated cakes and general baker of not only cakes but cupcakes, slices, cookies and so much more.

Unfortunately in 2019 just 15 months after the first saleable BBD cakes were delivered we found ourselves living the effects of the worst Drought Australia has seen. Suddenly BBD was no longer a side hustle of rural living for this mum of three, but was stepped up to top gear to fill in the financial gaps that we were faced with.

Thanks to releasing postage for my cookie creations along with the continued support from those locally needing baked goods we managed to survive a very trying time by being able to expand our ever growing clientele as well as continue to service our local area.
